CranioSacral Therapy for children with Sensory Integration Dysfunction, ADHD, ASD & Autism

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a hands-on approach and a powerful therapy that calms the central nervous system and improves the function of the whole body. During therapy, the central nervous system slows down and enables the regulation of mood. This process is known in CranioSacral therapy as SomatoEmotional Release (SER).

The positive effects of the SomatoEmotional release are:

Regulation of mood and emotions

Reduction in anxiety

Induction of deep relaxation

Secretion of serotonin (“feel-good” hormone)

Reduction of heart rate and blood pressure

CranioSacral therapy has positive outcomes for children who have Sensory Integration Dysfunction/"Sensory Processing Disorder" (SPD). It is also proven to support children all along the spectrum of autism and learning disabilities, including ADHD, ADD, and learning difficulties.

Special focus is dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of children using an understanding of the autonomic nervous system. The goal is to help the child regulate their emotions affected by chronic stress, hyperactivity, chronic depression, and withdrawal.

By using a hands-on gentle approach, CranioSacral therapy brings into balance the autonomic nervous system and gives the child greater access to more positive, socially engaged states. CranioSacral Therapy can be easily blended with other modalities, such as neuropsychology or occupational therapy which makes it a holistic therapy for children. This brings a child into a more balanced and healthier life.
